PlayPad: Draw and Doodle is designed from the ground up with your privacy in mind. We follow a "zero data collection" approach and comply with COPPA, GDPR, and other privacy regulations.

Privacy First Approach

PlayPad is designed with privacy as a core principle. We follow a "privacy by design" methodology and collect zero personal data. Everything is stored locally on your device with no external data transmission, making it safe for all ages and compliant with international privacy laws including COPPA, GDPR, and CCPA.

What Data We Store

PlayPad only stores the following data locally on your device:

  • Your Drawings: Artwork and doodles you create within the app
  • App Preferences: Your settings such as brush sizes, favorite colors, and tool preferences

Permissions We Request

PlayPad requests access to your Photo Library for the following purposes:

  • Import Images: To allow you to select an image from your photo library to use as a background for your drawings
  • Save Drawings: To save your finished artwork directly to your device's photo library

This permission is optional and only used when you choose to import or save images. We do not access, upload, or transmit any of your photos to external servers. All image handling occurs entirely on your device.

What We Don't Collect

PlayPad follows a strict "zero data collection" policy. We do not collect:

  • Personal information (name, email, phone number, age)
  • Location data or GPS coordinates
  • Device identifiers (UDID, IDFA, advertising IDs)
  • Usage analytics, metrics, or tracking data
  • Biometric data (Face ID, Touch ID data)
  • Photos from your camera roll (we only access photos you explicitly choose to import as backgrounds)
  • Contact lists or calendar information
  • Data from third-party sources or social media
  • Network activity or browsing history
  • Any data transmitted outside your device

Local Storage Only

All your data remains on your device. When you delete the PlayPad app, all your data (drawings and preferences) is permanently removed. We have no access to your data and no data is sent to our servers or any third-party services.

In-App Purchases

PlayPad may offer in-app purchases for additional features or content.

Purchase Processing: All transactions are processed securely through Apple's App Store. We do not collect, store, or process payment information. Apple handles all billing, receipts, and refunds according to their policies.

Family Sharing: In-app purchases support Apple's Family Sharing feature, allowing family members to share purchases while maintaining privacy protection.

Children's Privacy & COPPA Compliance

PlayPad is designed to be completely safe for users of all ages and fully complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), GDPR Article 8 (child protection), and other international children's privacy laws.

COPPA Compliant: No personal information collection from children under 13

  • Zero data collection - No personal information from users of any age
  • No online features - No social features, chat, or communication with strangers
  • No external connections - No links to websites or web browsing capabilities
  • No tracking - No behavioral tracking, analytics, or advertising
  • No location access - No GPS or location permissions required
  • Offline functionality - Works completely offline without internet connection
  • Parental control friendly - Compatible with Screen Time and parental controls

Data Control

You have complete control over your data. To delete all your PlayPad data (drawings and preferences), simply delete the app from your device. No data will remain on any servers because none was collected.

International Privacy Compliance

PlayPad complies with privacy laws worldwide:

  • COPPA (USA): Children's Online Privacy Protection Act compliance
  • GDPR (EU): General Data Protection Regulation, including Article 8 child protection
  • CCPA (California): California Consumer Privacy Act compliance
  • PIPEDA (Canada): Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act
  • Privacy Act 1988 (Australia): Australian privacy law compliance

Data Security

Even though we don't collect personal data, we implement security best practices:

  • App Store security: Distributed only through Apple's secure App Store
  • Code integrity: App is digitally signed and verified by Apple
  • Local encryption: Local data uses iOS built-in encryption
  • No network vulnerabilities: No network connections eliminate security risks
  • Regular updates: Security updates distributed through App Store

Your Rights

Since PlayPad doesn't collect personal data, traditional data rights don't apply. However, you have complete control:

  • Data portability: Export your drawings through the app's sharing feature
  • Data deletion: Delete all data by removing the app
  • No consent required: No data collection means no consent needed
  • Transparent operation: This policy fully describes all app functionality
